Evidently, there is no one in Washington who gives a hoot for the betterment of this country! Whether they are Democrat or Republican, our elected officials appear to hold more allegiance to their party relationship than the do the citizens who voted them in office. Our country faces problems far beyond a party relationship, Yet they can do nothing but play childish games of “who done it”, while our country goes to “Hell in a hand basket”! Never before has the meaning of Democrat or Republican become so divisive.
Let it be no doubt that each Party represents different philosophies on, not only politics, but morals, integrity, character, religion, and their individual views of how we, as citizens, should live our lives! Has it gotten to the point that elected officials care more about their personal popularity and wealth building then they do the individual on the streets? Yes it has! The days of our founding fathers is long gone and I am sure many of them have turned over in their graves many times since their departure to a better life.
We might ask, “when did it all start? Let’s just say, it started many years before the majority of us were even born. Yet, it has worsened over the years and now has reached the inevitable climax! It is all about which party wins and who loose. Unfortunately, for the citizens of this country, we have become the losers.
What will it take for our elected officials to pursue an applicable course for the benefit of us, the citizens of the USA? We have created careers for those who seek to become representatives, representing our “so called” interests and values”! Could it be that, we as citizens, have become so deviled in values, religion, integrity, and especially morals, that we too have become so political that we fail to see the mistakes of our personal lives?
The values and morals taught to many of us in earlier years, has become a thing of the past. Parents have become more engrossed in their ability to have material objects than they have than teaching their children the real things in life that matter. We allowed our schools to forget about the values and education needed to compete in this world. Instead, we let them teach an agenda they, as individuals prefer, based on a political basis. We have become weak rather than strong. Too many of us sit by the way side and let others the work. Many fail to speak up, while allowing others to pursue their agendas; we have become lazy, relying on the Government to provide a living off the hands of those who work.
What will it take to correct the problem, we ask? We can start by putting aside individual prejudices, crying over an election that did not go our way, putting morals and integrity back in our lives, and finally speaking up and telling our elected officials to do the same!
The election is over, it’s time to start doing the job we elected them to do, and if they can’t do that, kick them out, regardless of who they are or how long they have been there!
